Ndolage Institute of Health Sciences (School of Nursing and Midwifery)
Total Health Africa (THA) continues to partner with the Ndolage Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) and supports their efforts to fulfill their Mission and Vision.*
We are doing this by conferring with faculty, students, and Administration specific to resources needed. THA is providing equipment/supplies for their skills lab; textbooks, and audio video equipment (i.e., projectors, computers, teaching videos, etc.) that increase critical thinking skills. THA supports the overall health of the students by providing recreational equipment such as soccer equipment; cows that provide students’ daily milk source; and much more.
THA provides two full nursing scholarships (Bertha DuPlessis Nursing Scholarship) per year to female nursing students experiencing dire financial challenges. Receiving a scholarship ensures completion of their nursing education, employment upon graduation and provision of health care to their community. Through generous donations in 2018, THA installed a Solar Panel electrical system at the Ndolage Institute of Health Sciences. The power is fully functional, and the students and faculty now have a reliable source of electricity in their school buildings and dormitories. Through generous donations in 2022-2023 we have also been able to help build a new simulation lab at NIHS, as well as send several new pieces of simulation equipment. Thank you so much to our generous donors and partners!
